Lecture: The Nature of Governments - the student will identify the three basic forms of government: monarchy, aristocracy, and democracy - the student will understand the relationship between man and his governmental rights and responsibilities (social contract) - the student will differentiate between the Classical-Christian Consciousness on government and the newer secular-democratic consciousness of the Englightenment - the student will recognize the realistic, but pessimistic tenets of the Classical-Christian Consciousness of government and contrast them against the idealism of secular-democracy
